A Philadelphia couple’s early morning rendevous turned chaotic when their parked vehicle unexpectedly plunged into the Schuylkill River.
Early Wednesday, around 4:45 a.m., police responded to a rather unusual incident near the Columbia Bridge on Kelly Drive.
According to authorities, a man and woman were getting busy in the backseat of their car when the car entered the water.
In the heat of the moment, the woman accidentally shifted the vehicle out of gear, causing it to roll right into the river.
Fortunately, both individuals managed to escape the sinking vehicle without any injuries.
The car, which is believed to be a Land Rover, was submerged for several hours before being pulled from the water around 9 a.m.
