Vice President Kamala Harris has made a strong start in her bid for the presidency, raising over $200 million just a week after announcing her campaign. This impressive figure is four times the amount raised by the Biden re-election effort for the entire month of April and nearly double the $112 million reported by Donald Trump’s campaign in June, according to Politico.

The Harris campaign highlighted that 66% of these contributions came from first-time donors, signaling widespread grassroots support. In addition to the fundraising milestone, the campaign has also attracted over 170,000 new volunteers since President Biden announced his decision to step down and endorsed Harris as the Democratic nominee last Sunday.

With just 100 days until the election, the campaign is capitalizing on this momentum, scheduling over 2,000 events in crucial swing states this weekend alone.
