In Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, which debuted last Thursday, Megan gives fans an inside look at her rise to fame and personal hardships, including the loss of her mother and the fallout from the 2020 shooting incident involving Lanez. Reflecting on her interview with King, Megan explains that she wasn’t expecting questions about her intimate relationship with Lanez and felt unprepared to answer truthfully. “Yes, I lied to Gayle King,” Megan admits in the documentary, sharing that the question caught her off guard.

When asked about Megan’s admission by TMZ, King responded with understanding. “I thought it was the first time she was telling her story, and it bothered me that so many people didn’t believe her,” King said.
