AG Radio Welcome to the best night of your life
John Legend is gearing up to release his children and family album, though fans can’t help but remember his classic cuts.
On August 30th, Legend will unveil his “My Favorite Dream” album. The 15-track project will include three songs that are collaborations with the children’s toy company Fisher-Price. His kids also played a part in the album’s creation. His eight-year-old daughter Luna helped design some of the artwork, while six-year-old son Miles joins his big sister and dad on the single “L-O-V-E.”
This sweet move has fans online reminiscing about his earlier work, specifically his debut solo album, “Get Lifted.” The project was released in December 2004 and is one of the most soulful in Legend’s catalog. The album’s title track is a catchy melody about getting high, while other love tunes, such as “Used to Love U” and “She Don’t Have to Know,” showcase the singer’s playboy ways with the ladies. There was also the slow ballad “Ordinary People,” though that was also swarming with the necessary toxicity needed for a timeless R&B chart-topper. The single preached about slowing down a relationship once love entered the picture and ended up two times platinum.
Naturally, once Legend settled down and started a family off wax, his musical subject matters changed slightly. However, Legend has not swayed too far from his roots, which were last evident on his 2022 “Legend” album. The opening cut, “Rounds,” features Rick Ross and dives right into the obvious, a lane that his supporters still love.

The music was better when he was the R&B equivalent of Future as far as toxicity https://t.co/AnVbSje5cA

Legend may not be dropping off “cheating music” anytime soon, especially as a happily married man of ten years. Still, let’s all remember some of John Legend’s best throwbacks.
“Number One”
“Green Light”
“Tonight (Best You Ever Had)”
“Let’s Get Lifted”
“Used to Love U”
