In the latest twist of the ongoing legal battle between Sean “Diddy” Combs and his accuser, ex-porn star Adria English, the lawyer handling her high-profile sex trafficking case is requesting to step down. According to newly obtained legal documents TMZ reports that Adria’s attorney, Ariel Mitchell-Kidd, has asked a judge to withdraw from the case, citing irreconcilable differences and conflicting instructions from her client.

Mitchell-Kidd claims that her relationship with Adria, who once performed under the stage name “Omunique,” has broken down to the point where she can no longer effectively represent her. She alleges that Adria’s “tone, lack of respect, and self-destructive behavior” have made continuing the attorney-client relationship impossible. The attorney also noted that the conflicting directions from Adria have made it difficult to proceed with the case.

The lawsuit, originally filed in July, rocked the industry as Adria accused Diddy of sexual assault and sex trafficking at his infamous White Parties.  Attorney Mitchell-Kidd even appeared on TMZ Live shortly after filing the suit, asserting that an indictment against Diddy was imminent.

A representative for Diddy issued a statement following the news of Adria’s attorney seeking to cut ties with her, saying, “Less than three months after filing her lawsuit, Adria English has been dropped by both of her attorneys after making completely fabricated statements… No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone.”
